Who these terms are between
This portal is operated by The VIC (Vancouver Innovation Center), 18110 SE 34th St, Vancouver WA. Using it means you accept what follows. If you don't, don't use the portal — building services remain available through the front desk.
Accounts
Accounts are for tenants of the building and the staff who serve them. Staff create or approve accounts; you cannot sign yourself up. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, use your own account rather than sharing one, and tell staff@thevicwa.com promptly if you think someone else has access to it. When you stop working in the building, your account is deactivated.
Using the portal
The portal exists to book rooms, RSVP to building events, sign amenity waivers, order from the café and talk to the building. Use it for those things. Don't use it to harass anyone, to post unlawful or deliberately misleading content, to probe or interfere with the service or its security, or to scrape it wholesale. Staff may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules.
Bookings and events
A booking reserves a space at a time; it is not a lease and confers no rights beyond that slot. Building staff may move or cancel a booking when operations require it, and will tell you when they do. Events have capacity — an RSVP past capacity puts you on the waitlist, and a waitlisted RSVP is not a confirmed place. Cancel what you no longer need so someone else can take it.
Amenities and waivers
The fitness center and pickleball courts require a signed waiver before use. Signing in the portal is the same commitment as signing on paper. Use the amenities at your own risk, follow posted rules, and don't let unwaivered guests in on your account.
What you post
You keep ownership of what you write and upload. By posting it here you let us store and display it inside the portal so the building and its staff can read it. Don't post anything you don't have the right to share.
Availability
We aim to keep the portal running, but it is provided as-is. Planned maintenance, vendor outages and faults happen. When the portal is down, building services continue through the front desk — the portal is a convenience layer, not the only route to them.
Liability
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise The VIC is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the portal, and your use of the building and its amenities remains governed by your lease and the building rules, which prevail over these terms if they conflict.
Privacy
What we record about you and why is set out in the Privacy Policy, and how the site uses cookies is in the Cookie Policy.
Changes
We may update these terms as the portal changes. Material changes will be announced in the portal before they take effect. Questions go to staff@thevicwa.com.
