Adding VIC to your own calendar
One-off adds, your personal booking feed, and how to revoke a feed you've shared.
On this page
The portal never writes into your calendar by itself. You choose what to bring across, in one of two ways.
One-off: add a single item
Every booking row and every event page offers Google Cal and .ics. These make a copy in your calendar at that moment. If the event later moves or is cancelled, your copy won't know.
Subscribing: your personal booking feed
At the bottom of My upcoming on Bookings there's a Copy feed URL line. Subscribe to it once and every room you book appears in your own calendar automatically — and drops out when you cancel.
- Open Bookings and click Copy feed URL.
- In Google Calendar: go to Other calendars → From URL, paste, and add.
- In Outlook: Add calendar → Subscribe from web, paste, and add.
- In Apple Calendar: File → New Calendar Subscription, paste, and subscribe.
The three kinds of feed
| Feed | What's in it | Where to get it |
|---|---|---|
| Your bookings | Every room reservation you hold, kept up to date. | Copy feed URL on Bookings. |
| A single booking | Just that one reservation, as a downloaded file. | The .ics link on the booking row. |
| A room's availability | When a room is busy — shown only as Booked, with no titles or names. | Building staff can share it from the room's admin page. |
If you've shared a feed URL by mistake
Feed links can be revoked. Ask building staff to bump your calendar-feed version — the old link dies immediately and you subscribe again with a fresh one. There's no self-service control for this yet, so contact the team.
webcal:// rather than https://, and some choke on a partly-copied link.https:// for webcal://.
